Pablo Escobar, one of the billionaire drug lords, may have been killed in 1993 but his legacy remains.
He brought hippos from Colombia as part of his private zoo at his ranch named Hacienda Napoles.
Now the population of those hippos is exploding rapidly. The animals are becoming a danger to human safety and livelihoods.
In 1980s Escobar Pablo imported 1 male and 3 female hippos. Upon his death the hippos were left at the ranch only other species of wild animals were relocated.

They soon spread to the surrounding areas. Now, there are more than 80 hippos in the area and soon they will cover the entire Colombia if no one takes action.
Hippos are very destructive on crops and can kill human beings who cross their path.
Now experts such as biologists are recommending culling as one of the possible solutions to control the ever growing population of Escobar hippos.
