The Daily Mail has reported that over 200 academics from 20 UK universities in the UK will be prosecuted for helping China develop dangerous weapons.
These scholars face a prison sentence of up to 10 years. They violated the Export Control Order of 2008. This law was put in place to control export of knowledge to hostile countries in sensitive fields such as security and military.
These academics may have shared with China knowledge in the fields of cyber-weapons, aircraft and missile designs.
