Osman Shariff, the first covid-19 patient in Isiolo, wants the County government to pay him Ksh 25 million after health workers posted his pictures and bio-data on social media.
The 62-year-old complained of massive losses in his business and stigmatization.
He was isolated in Garbatula Hospital after testing positive to the virus and the medics took photos of him and shared them on social media platforms.
He has fully recovered from the deadly virus but he says he is still undergoing psychological torture.
People are avoiding him and his businesses are making losses.
Shariff owns buses that operate along Garbatula-Maua road. He bemoans that passengers have avoided his vehicles.
He also owns a wholesale shop in Garbatula and retailers are no longer conducting businesses with him.
His daughter Rahma, was apparently beaten in Maua Town after being accused of belonging to a ‘sick family’. She was rescued from the mob by a friend.
Shariff has requested the members of the public to stop subjecting those who contracted Covid-19 to psychological torture as anybody can get the disease.
