The Migori county Governor, Okoth Obado’s assets have been frozen following the ruling from the High Court to permit the EACC to take the action. The properties that were seized include his residential home in Loresho in Nairobi and his three expensive cars.
The vehicles were registered under Dan Achola Okoth and Oliver Odhiambo. Following the seizure of the residential property, Obado is now not allowed to collect rent generated. It is claimed that the frozen properties were acquired by embezzled funds from the county government of Migori.

He was also denied from selling the three cars and delivering their log books to the EACC. Obado’s family and close friends were warned from transferring the assets by Judge Maina.
“It is therefore just and fit to prohibit the defendants, their agents, servants and/or any other persons from alienating, wasting, transferring, disposing or in any other way dealing with the properties,” EACC said.
Obado aquaalso registered several companies to secure contracts from the county government of Migori. The money earned by the companies were directed to bank accounts that belonged to Obado. The companies include; Misoft Limited, Pesulus Suppliers, Victorious Investment Limited, Swyfcon Engineering, Dolphus Software Limited, Kajulu Business Limited, Mactebac Contractors,Dankey Consultants, Joyush Business Limited, Tarchdog Printerd and Atinus Services Limited.
