Oakland Coffee House Ban police Officers

Coffee in Oakland, Hasta Muerte,  bans police officers. That is an unwritten rule at this enterprise. The firm is collectively owned and it sells coffee and books.

An officer with a badge froths the owners of this book store and coffee house.

“We have a policy of asking police to leave for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves,” coffee shop owners wrote on their Instagram page.

They added further:

“We know in our experience working on campaigns against police brutality that we are not alone saying that police presence compromises our feeling of physical & emotional safety.”

The local residents do not support this new unwritten laws as reported by media such as KTVU.

The local city council investigated the issue and was informed by the owners that they have in place an unwritten law that refuse service to all men and women of uniform (blue).
