Niger President Mohamed Bazoum, was detained by the presidential guards. The team was given an ultimatum by the army.
The presidential guard team sealed access to the presidential palace as well as offices after talks stalled.
They refused to release the president.

Mohamed Bazoum was elected in 2021 and has been at the helm of one of Africa’s most coup prone countries.
