Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante is set to miss up to five games during this crucial spell of Chelsea’s season as Frank Lampard’s side prepare to face Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs in the Premier League on Saturday.
The French Midfielder has suffered several injury setbacks during this campaign, with the latest coming on Monday after he was forced off just 12 minutes into the defeat to Manchester United.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard confirmed that the midfielder suffered a muscle injury and he is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
The injury rules him out of UEFA Champions League last-16 home tie against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, as well as FA Cup tie against Liverpool and 3 Premier League fixtures.
‘’N’golo is not fit. It’s a muscle injury, similar to the one he came off against Arsenal [on January 21st] with. It should hopefully be 3 weeks.’’ Said Lampard.
The news is a big blow to Chelsea who are looking increasingly vulnerable with the fourth spot in the English Premier League table.
