Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspurs 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to earn their first points of the season. Joelinton’s goal in the 27th minute was enough to beat Spurs.
The 1-0 victory at Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a big result for Newcastle manager Steve Bruce because it has been a tough start for him. He had two bad results. This will be massive for his confidence and for the players too.
The win now places the magpies in the 19th position with three points. They lost their opening two fixtures against Arsenal and Norwich.
Totenham Hotspurs are 7th in the premier league table with 4 points. Tottenham beat Aston Villa in their opening fixture before drawing against Manchester City.
Tottenham Hotspurs will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 1st of September as Newcastle United face Leicester City on 28th August in the League cup before welcoming Watford on 31st August in the Premier League.
