At least 90 Pacific rattlesnakes have been removed from the home of a woman in California in United States of America. The reptiles were rescued by a team. The woman’s identity was not revealed. She called the Sonoma County Reptile Rescue at the beginning of this month.
Alan Wolf, the rescue director, wrote on social media saying: “This last week I got a call from a lady that said that she had snakes under her house.”
“3 hours and 45 minutes later this is what I came out with, 59 babies and 22 adults.”
Wolf returned to the home the second time and extracted seven additional snakes.
Wolf still believes that there are more snakes at the home. According to the HuffPost, the foundation of the home was constructed around rocks and as a result snakes can come and go the way the like.
Wolf stated that the type of snakes was pacific rattlesnakes. These type of snakes are known to reproduce a lot. According to Burke Museum in Seattle, they can give birth to between four to 21 babies in three months. Further, snake experts revealed that numerous female Pacific rattlesnakes may assemble in one den to give birth.
Rattle snakes attack humans only when they feel threatened. The woman in whose house snakes were found lives in Santa Rosa and did not want to be identified to prevent her neighbors from panicking.
