The National Football League legend Lawrence Taylor was arrested in Florida on Thursday Dec 16. This was first reported by TMZ Sports indicating that prison records show that Lawrence formerly of New York Giants was booked at 8:45 pm ET and released hours later.
Lawrence Taylor is now 62 years-old and his mug shot was taken before his release.
It is not clear why he was arrested but the spokesperson for Broward County Sheriff Office revealed that Lawrence had been booked on charges of sexual offenses. Back in 2011 Lawrence Taylor was declared a sex offender after he was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl. At the time he said that he thought she was 19.
The law requires that all suspected or reported sex offenders have to inform the law enforcement agencies of any changes in residence and name change.
A part from this alleged dark side of Lawrence Taylor, he is also considered to be the greatest defensive play in NFL history. He was a great line-backer and he spent his entire career with Giants. That is from 1981 to 1993. In the course of which he won Super Bowls, 3 Defensive Player of the Year Awards and one NFL MVP awards.
He was also a Hall of Famer and eight time first-team All-Pro selection. Lawrence has been arrested on numerous occasions in 1990s after he tried to buy drugs from undercover police personnel.
