Namibia’s education ministry has released a new calendar as the country further relaxes restrictions imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The ministry says schools will reopen in phases from 6th July to 3rd August. The academic term will end on 18th December.
President Hage Geingob announced on Monday that more restrictions had been relaxed.
Tourists from low risk countries will be allowed into the country as from the end of June so as to revive the tourism sector that employs over 100,000 people.
In relaxed restrictions, Casinos and gambling houses will reopen for pre-booked clients.
250 people will be allowed to attend funerals and weddings from an initial 50.
Namibia has confirmed a total of 63 coronavirus cases and no deaths.
