Limuru Constituency was founded in 1963 and since then it has had 12 members of Parliament.
James Gichuru was the first MP for Limuru Constituency. He served four terms (1963 – 1983) as MP Limuru Constituency. He also served as Minister for Finance and Defense.
The second MP Limuru Constituency was Jonathan Njenga.
The current MP Limuru Constituency is Eng. John Kiragu Chege. This MP Limuru had also served from 2013 -2017 before he was defeated by Peter Muigai Mwathi in 2017 elections. He re bounced back in 2022 elections.
