Moi Girls Dormitory Fire Claims Seven Lives
We woke up today with sad news that a dormitory of Moi Girls School in Nairobi had caught fire claiming the lives of seven students.

Dr. Fred Matiang’i, the Cabinet Secretary for education responded rapidly by directly all relevant agencies such as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and government chief pathologist to do a thorough investigation. This is to establish the real cause of the fire.
Honorable Mike Mbuvi Sonko, the governor for Nairobi County was present at the school to condole with the parents who lost their students to the dorm fire. The CS promised that the government will cover the expenses of all students who were affected by the school fire.
About 10 girls who were injured as a result of this fire accident at the school were taken to hospital for treatment.
The CS has directed that the school be closed for 2 weeks to allow investigations to take place. The form fours will resume their revision for K.C.S.E exams on Friday next week.
The Cabinet Secretary announced that those students whose parents are coming from far away should not be anxious because he will take personal responsibility until those parents arrive.
