Mohamed Mansour is the boss of Mansour Group which was established by Loutfy Mansour and others in 1952. In 1970, the Loutfy founded cotton brokerage in Geneva. The company connected cotton traders in Sudan with international buyers. The company has 60,000 people in its payroll.

 

In 1975, Mansour Group established a General Motors dealership and later became one of the biggest distributors of General Motors globally. The company has tentacles in Iraq. The first GM vehicle was assembled in Egypt in 1985.

 

In Egypt Mohamed Mansour has exclusive distribution rights for Caterpillar equipment as well as in 7 other African countries including Liberia.

 

Mohamed Mansour has invested heavily in IHS Towers which is the leading telecom company in Middle East, Africa and Europe. The group also owns Infort which is an IT Services company.

 

Mansour Group owns Mantrack Group, Hayat Factory (water bottling plants), Metro Market (since 1998), Unatrac, Sunshine, sole francise for McDonald’s restaurants in Egypt since 1994, distribution rights for IBM, HP, Compaq and Microsoft.

 

Mohamed Mansour owns a discount supermarket known as Kheir Zaman which has operations across Egypt.

Mansour holds dual citizenship for United Kingdom and Egypt. Her served as a Minister for transportation in Egypt from 2006 until 2009 under the Hosni Mubarak presidency.

 

The billionaire has two brothers known as Youssef and Yasseen. Who also own stakes in the family group.

 

Mansour’s father lost his wealth when Egypt was ruled by Gamal Abdel Nasser. The former president expropriated the father’s cotton trading firm back in 1964.

 

While studying at North Carolina State University the billionaire worked as a busboy in a pizza parlor to pay for his college.
