Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga scored twice as his club Kashiwa Reysol beat Tokyo Verdy 3-0 in a Japan J2 league match that was played yesterday. The match was played at the Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium.
Following the win, Kashiwa Reysol are now 9 points clear on top of the Japan J2 League. They have 69 points. Omiya Ardija are placed second with 60 following their 3-0 win against V-Varen Nagasaki.
Kashiwa Reysol could be promoted to Japan J1 League if they manage the first two positions of the J2 League at the end of the season.
Michael Olunga continues to star for the Japanese Club and he recently won the Japan J2 League Player of the month of August.
