Harambee Stars Striker Michael Olunga has been named The August player of the Month for the Japanese Division two League (J2)
On August 10th, Olunga scored a hat trick for his club Kashiwa Reysol that helped his team beat Renofa Yamaguchi. Kashiwa Reysol won the game 4-1.
The 25 year Old striker was also on target scoring the winning goal for Reysol as they beat V-Varen Nagasaki 2-1 on 17th of August.
On 25th August Kashiwa Reysol beat Gifu FC 4-0 in a match that Olunga scored two goals totaling to six goals scored by the forward in the month of August.

“My teammates, my supporters and everyone who believes in me, I am truly thankful. All I can do is to continue working hard and pray for better tidings in the future.”
The former Girona FC forward was not involved in the September 7 tie when Kashiwa Reysol fell to a 4-3 loss to Montedio Yamagata. He was with the national team preparing for a friendly match against Uganda which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Kashiwa Reysol are currently on top of the J2 League table with 63 points, 6 ahead of second placed Montedio Yamagata.
