Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo will miss the club’s training camp in Spain over fears that the coronavirus outbreak could lead him being refused entry back into UK.

Ighalo, 30, flew to Manchester last week from China after signing from Shanghai Shenhua on loan.

‘’He might have liked to come with the players and got to know them, but the risk [of border restrictions tightening] we don’t want to take.’’ Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV.

Midfielder Scott McTominay and defender Axel Tuanzebe, who have been out for a while with injuries, will travel with the rest of the squad to Spain.

Ighalo will remain in England with a personal coach.

‘’So he’s staying here working with a personal coach on an individual programme and his family then can settle in England as well. That’s a plus.’’ Added Solskjaer.

Manchester United will play Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Monday, February 17th in the Premier League. Ighalo could make his United debut.

However, midfielder Paul Pogba and forward Marcus Rashford will miss out as they continue their recovery from injuries.
