Nairobi man sets child and self on fire in wife’s car. Denis Musyoka, 34, is reported dead after setting himself and his 2-year-old daughter on fire. He died in the flames but the daughter survived and is receiving special treatment at Kenyatta Hospital.
From the police report, Musyoka entered his wife’s car and stabbed her in the neck area several times. Elizabeth, his wife, managed to escape and called out for help.
Her cries were heard by good Samaritans who rushed her to Mama Lucy Hospital. Elizabeth’s condition is reported to have improved by a great margin and is recovering.
“The lady managed to jump out of the vehicle and was rescued by good Samaritans. The deceased then set himself on fire in the said vehicle together with his 2-year old daughter,” police said.
According to reports after the incident, Musyoka had disagreements with his wife over their daughter. He had proposed to Elizabeth that he would like to spend some time with their 2-year-old daughter.
Musyoka could have used petrol to set the car into flames because a five-liter jerrycan was recovered from the car. Musyoka’s body was taken to Mama Lucy Hospital.
