Man commits suicide after he’s diagnosed with cancer
A man identified as Tabathia Mugambi hanged himself in his house on Thursday evening at Kwa Mwaura village in Laikipia East Sub County. Laikipia County Police Commander Maxwell Nyaema confirmed the incident.
The 65 year old was allegedly diagnosed with cancer leading to him committing suicide.
‘’The deceased left behind a note that was found in his house about 200 metres from Kalalu Trading Centre. It stated that he committed suicide on his own and his wife Teresia Nyokabi should not be asked anything. ‘’ Mr. Nyaema said.
Charles Maina, the deceased nephew was the one who informed the police about the suicide incident. The police arrived at the scene and found the body hanging on a rope in the house.
Mr. Nyaema confirmed that the body of the deceased was taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
This comes after another suicide incident in Naivasha where a woman who was suffering from breast cancer took her life. She must have taken the step due to the trauma associated with cancer.
Cancer, in the past few days has claimed lives of many people including Eminent people such as former Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth and former Bomet governor Dr Joyce Laboso.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised in the recent past that he’ll establish 10 Chemotherapy centres across the country to help fight cancer.
