South Africa’s opposition politician Julius Malema has urged people not to go to church, saying they’ll die after contracting coronavirus.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that places of worship in South Africa will reopen from 1st June. Only 50 or less people will be allowed inside at any time.
Julius Malema said on Thursday that reopening the places of worship would expose worshippers to infections. He urged the religious leaders to keep the places of worship closed if they cared about the people.
Julius Malema advised members of his Economic Freedom Fighters party not to attend worship.
Julius Malema said that restaurants had better hygiene practices but remained closed so worship placed should not reopen.
