Defender Dejan Lovren has left Liverpool for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on a three-year contract.
Zenit are reported to have paid €12M pounds to sign the centre-back.
The 31-year-old joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014. He made a total of 185 appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring 8 times.
The Croatia international enjoyed his two final seasons at Liverpool, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the Premier League.
‘’Another Liverpool legend has left the club, because he was a very important part of this team,’’ Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said.
’’From the first day, I remember we played with [Borussia] Dortmund against Liverpool in a pre-season friendly and Dejan scored with a header with incredible power. That was the image in my mind when I came here and thought about the defenders we had.
‘’A great player, great person. We will miss him; he’s a model athlete. He has everything you need. But now he goes to Russia.’’
