Livepool goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss the Champions League showdown with Atletico Madrid after suffering a hip injury.
The Brazil International missed the 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday with Adrian taking his place.
Manager Jurgen Klopp earlier revealed that Alisson suffered a problem in training before the Chelsea game and he was left behind to avoid any risks.
After further investigations, it was discovered that Alisson’s issue was more problematic.
The 27-year old will miss Atletico’s visit to Anfield. Diego Simeone’s side are 1-0 up from the first leg.
Kolpp does not expect Alisson to be out of action for too long.
‘’I don’t want to say no, but I don’t know,’’ Klopp said when asked if the stopper will be fit to face Everton on March 16th.
‘’He’s not available for next week. Then we have to judge the situation. I would say that after the international break he’ll be a 100 percent fit, but before that I don’t know.’’
This is Alisson’s second injury of the season. He missed the opening two months of the season through injury.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League table despite Watford breaking their 44-match unbeaten run in the Premier League. They host AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
