Sharing is Caring

Housing seems to be a global problem. House rents are very expensive in Namibia.

There are informal settlements in Windhoek such as Goreangab, Okahandja, Okuryangava and Otjomuise. These slums do not have running water and electricity connected.

A friend told me that some people go to the bush for calls of nature. This is unfortunate.

Collecting electricity to houses can cost Namibians up to N$ 10,000 which is equivalent to KES 75,000. In comparison in Kenya you can spend Ksh. 10,000 to get connected to the grid if the line passes near your home.

Namibian politicians promise to improve access to basic services such as clean water, housing and electricity but 32 years since independence the poor are not able to access those services.
