During the colonial times, Kilimani area was set aside for whites only. Segregation. This place was only integrated for all people starting from 1960s.

This shopping center was build by LZ Engineering, a company owned by the once powerful cabinet Minister under former president Daniel Arap Moi.
According to Kenya Kroll Report the LZ Engineering acquired the property on October 1983.
On October 31, 1989 the property was transferred to Yaya Towers Limited.
