Kevin Opiyo Oliech’s body arrived home last evening from Germany where he died three weeks ago.
Oliech, 33, succumbed to cancer on 16th August while undergoing treatment.
He will be buried on Saturday in his rural home in Seme, Kisumu County.
In hand to receive the body at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), in the company of family and friends, was Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko, who pledged to continue supporting the Oliech’s family.
Kevin was the younger brother to former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech.
He played for Securicor FC, Mathare United, Tusker FC, Thika United, Nairobi City Stars, and Nakumatt FC in a career that lasted just over a decade.
