It seems Kenyans are seeking for alternative vehicles of investments and slowly moving away from real estate investments.
A Norwegian firm, Pangea Trust, conducted a survey of 143 Kenyans living in over 27 countries around the world.
In summary the report says that:
a) 36 percent of Kenyans invested on stocks;
b) 31% of Kenyans invested on their own businesses and;
c) 23% invested on family owned businesses;
Healthcare and manufacturing were some of the sectors which received lowest amount of investments.
In general most of the foreign remittances from Kenyans abroad originatedu from United States of America (53.85%), United Kingdom (7.4%), South Africa (6.3%) and Saudi Arabia closing the top four sources of remittances.
