She was a gynecologist who was hailed by many of her patients for her professionalism.
She succumbed to the virus within 48 hours of being admitted at a private hospital in the capital, Nairobi.
The ministry of health confirmed at the beginning of the month that a total of 186 health workers had tested positive for the deadly virus and that no doctor had died from the virus.
According to the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union, this is the first death of a healthcare worker during their regular line of duty, days after movement restrictions were relaxed.
