The United States Department of Defense has offered $52 million aid to forces fighting the terror group in Somalia. The money will be spent on procurement of high tech military helicopters such as 5 UH-1 Huey II helicopters for Kenya Defense Forces and an equal number of helicopters for Somalia.
The contract to supply the high tech military helicopters was signed by Bell Helicopter based in Texas. The helicopter has a sitting capacity of 12 people. It is very convenient in troop transport to and from remote areas and medical evacuation exercises.
The high tech military helicopters has the following features:
- Maximum cruise speed – 196
- Rollover bulkheads
- Endurance – 2.6 hours
- Fuel cells which are rapture resistant
- Jettisonable crew doors
It is a good sign when our military procures new high tech military helicopters to help fight terrorists.
