During the battle of the Deputies Debate that was held yesterday at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, the running mate of the presidential candidate Raila Odinga revealed her Net worth. Martha Karua was in the battle with the Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua.
She said that her networth is Sh150 million. She added that she is not greed for worldly wealth but she is here to deliver for the Kenyans.

“I’m not thirsty for land, and I’m not thirsty for worldly goods. I’m happy to have a house in Nairobi that I call home and have a house in my father’s land [in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County]. I do not look for property; not everyone is happy to amass [undeserved wealth],” she said.
Rigathi Gachagua of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), on the other hand, said he has a net worth of Sh. 800 million. This includes the money that has been frozen in the bank due to the ongoing corruption case.
Gachagua denied without hesitation that he is not worth the Sh12 billion as it had been stated by Martha Karua. Deputy President running mate said that the government froze his account mainly because he denied to join hands with the President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gachagua used to be a personal assistant of Uhuru Kenyatta and claimed that during that time, had the money but after he declined the call, things started falling apart.
“I had the money when I supported [President] Uhuru in 2013, I still had the money when I supported him [again] in 2017. When I refused to abandon Ruto [after the DP and the president fell out], they froze my funds all of a sudden,” he said.
