Salomon Kalou has joined Brazilian side Botafogo after leaving Hertha Berlin.

The Ivory Coast international announced two days ago that he was leaving Hertha Berlin.

The 34-year-old Salomon Kalou  contract with German side Hertha Berlin ended on June 30, making him a free agent after a six-year spell in the Bundesliga.

The former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou did not take long to find a new home, with Botafogo announcing his arrival.

Botafogo have not disclosed the details of Salomon Kalou’s contract. He is expected to make his debut for Paulo Autuori’s side when the Brazilian Serie A returns in August.

Former Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda will be Salomon Kalou’s new teammate.

Salomon Kalou, who can also play as a winger, started his career at Dutch side Feyenoord in 2003 and after three campaigns he signed for Chelsea in 2006.

At Stamford Bridge, Salomon Kalou won one Premier League, 4 FA Cups, a League Cup, the Champions League and an FA Community Shield.

Salomon Kalou left Chelsea for Lille in 2012 before signing for Hertha Berlin in 2014.
