Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya takes MCAs and CECs through county budget FY 2019/2020
Kakamega budget estimates for financial year 2019/2020 will focus on agriculture, water, health, water, social services, roads and education. The following projects will be given priority during the period under review: water & electricity supply, Level 4 hospitals, women and youth empowerment, Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital, Farm inputs, Bukhungu Stadium, tea factories, dairy farming and smart farms.

Kakamega County is expected to have a budget of Ksh. 14.8 billion in FY 2019/2020 with another possibility of Ksh. 1 billion on top of that budget.
Kakamega Deputy Governor Prof. Philip Museve Kutima also attended the two days budget workshop organized by Ahadi Kenya. The meeting was also attended by the County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Planning Mr. Geoffrey Omulayi, Majority Leader, Joel Ongoro, the chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee, Hon. Willis Opuka, Minority Leader, Hon. David Ndakwa, Finance and Planning Committee chairperson, Hon. David Ikunza, chief officers, the Chairperson of the County Public Service Board, Madam Rodah Masaviru, the County Secretary, Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Robert Sumbi and PA to the governor, Mr. Herbert Sore.
