George Floyd, 46, an African American man was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis. The officer is reported to have kept his right knee on his neck for 8 minutes 46 seconds until her died.
George Floyd was arrested after using a fake $20 bill at a market in the locality.

On 29 May, Chauvin was charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter of George Floyd.
Following the death of Floyd, demonstrations ensured and police precincts and stores were set on fire. The police used rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
