The federal appeals judge Merrick Garland, 68, will be nominated as USA next Attorney General by Joe Biden.
It will be remembered that he was previously nominated by Barrack Obama to be the supreme court judge but the Republicans blocked his nomination.
Before becoming a judge, Garland worked as a federal prosecutor and some of his achievements was helping secure a conviction against a former District of Columbia mayor Marion Barry for cocaine possession.
