Sharing is Caring

Jeremy Clarkson, has reportedly closed down his Diddy Squat restaurant following planning problems.

The restaurant which is located in Chipping Norton estate opened at the beginning of last year and served dishes using ingredients from his farm.

Jeremy Clarkson, 62, previously worked as a presenter for BBC’s Top Gear TV programme. At the beginning, the presenter had the planning application declined by West Oxfordshire District Council.

Later he received an enforcement notice in October months after opening the eatery. This stated that the toilets, dining and parking areas of the restaurant is ‘visually intrusive and harmful’ to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

‘The lawful use of Diddly Squat Farm by reason of its nature, scale and siting is unsustainable and incompatible with its open countryside location,’ the local council stated.

The council ordered that the restaurant or any food selling business should be closed. Jeremy was also ordered to remove dining tables, mobile toilet, picnic tables, parasols and chairs.

The Chipping Norton community was happy with the decision and once said that this is a great win for them. They wanted the whole restaurant operation to be shut down.

Recently Jeremy Clarkson was condemned for attacks against Meghan Markle in his column on The Sun newspaper. The article was later removed by the media house.

‘In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people.’

Jeremy added: ‘I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future.’

Carol Vorderman, Alesha Dixon and Dan Walker are among prominent personalities who criticised Jeremy’s newspaper article.
