Disco Corporation was founded by Sekiya family of Japan. The family has a net worth of $7.4 billion. In 1937 Mitsuo Sekiya founded Disco Corporation  in Hiroshima prefecture for produce vetrified grindstones.

 

Kazuma Sekiya is the current Chief Executive Officer for Disco. He is a grandson to the company’s founder.

 

Disco specializes in manufacturing equipment used for slicing semiconductors in rectangles and squares for use in cellphones.

The ultra-thin resinoid abrasive wheel was the first to be developed in Japan. It has a thickness of between 0.13mm to 0.14 mm and was initially for cutting the slit in fountain pen nibs.
