Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has extended his Leicester City contract to 2023.
The 33-year-old scored 23 goals in the 2019-20 season to win the Golden boot as Leicester City secured a return to a European competition.
Vardy became the 29th player to score 100 Premier League goals in July and was named the club’s player of the season.
Vardy joined Leicester City from Fleetwood Town in 2012.
He has made 309 appearances, scoring 129 goals.
He told the club’s website: “The journey that I’ve been on with this Football Club is hard to describe, and although we’ve accomplished so much together already, I know that I’ve got so much more to achieve with this team, so it’s a special feeling to be able to commit my future to Leicester City once again.
“I love playing my football in front of our fans at King Power Stadium and I’m delighted to continue this journey at such an exciting time for the Club. We’ve a fantastic team that I believe is capable of getting even better and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the next few years.”
The Sheffield-born striker made history during Leicester’s 2015/16 title-winning campaign, scoring 24 goals, including in 11 consecutive league games, breaking Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of 10 with a brilliant finish against Manchester United at King Power Stadium five years ago.
