Damiano Tommasi, the President of Italian Footballers Association calls for Italian football suspension after reports that several regions in the country will be placed on lockdown.
Many news outlets in Italy claim that Lombardy, which includes the cities of Milan and Bergamo, and 11 neighboring provinces will be placed on lockdown. This is a government decree to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
Nobody will be allowed to enter those areas except for unavoidable work commitments and emergencies.
More than 200 people have been confirmed dead due to the virus with over 5,000 cases confirmed in Italy.
The spread of the virus has led to all games being played behind closed doors until April 3rd.
Tommasi wants the League to be brought to a stop.
