Cevital is the biggest private company in Algeria. The company owns one of the largest sugar refineries globally. It has a capacity of two million tons per annum.
Cevital owns companies in Europe such as Groupe Brandt which is a home appliances maker in France and Alas Iberia a Spanish aluminium company.
Groupe Brandt manufactures high-end dishwashers, washing machines, freezers, microwaves, televisions, air conditioners and refrigerators.
Issad Rebrab spent 8 months in jail on corruption charges and he was released on 1 January 2020. He denied the charges.
