Governor Godana Doyo is planning to give a clear conscious to the residents of Isiolo by establishing a public university in the County. He was saying this during a cheque issuing ceremony. He believes that his residents have been marginalized for many years due to lack of learning opportunities.
He also reported that 100 acres of land at the Livestock Marketing Division grounds has been set a side for this purpose. The land is just 5 kilometers from Isiolo town. It will be named Northern Frontier University.
The university is aiming at tapping students from the Northern part of Kenya and beyond. On the same note, Kenya Medical Training College will also be opening a campus in Isiolo County this month (September).
