At the Fordow nuclear facility, The Islamic Republic of Iran has resumed uranium enrichment to reach a 20% target. This was reported by a government spokesman on Monday 4 January.
According to experts, Nuclear enrichment towards 20% makes it easier for Iran to develop a nuclear bomb.
This will violate the nuclear deal negotiated between Iran and the international community back in 2016 where Iran’s nuclear program was stopped. Afterwards international sanctions were lifted.
The current level of Uranium enrichment is 4.5% which is still higher than the 3.67% ceiling placed by the 2015 nuclear deal.
