Professor Jock MacCulloch of RMIT University Australia was the Guest Speaker at the Power Reporting Investigative Journalism conference in Wits University in South Africa. The conference was attended by journalists from 30 countries. All journalists were encouraged share information instead of seating on it.
Dorio Milo called for journalists to be more careful and learn how to navigate around legal challenges that they face on a daily basis. The over 250 delegates who attended started arriving at the Venue on 4th November, 2014.
Professor Antony Harber called for journalists to be bold and courageous when reporting on sensitive news. He showed them how to use spreadsheets in analyzing information and reminded investigative journalists that they are liable for what they publish online and in the mainstream newspapers.
