He is a Cardiologist who founded Apollo Hospitals Enterprise way back in 1983 after his return from the United States of America in the 1970s. He was trained as a cardiologist in both the United Kingdom and United States States of America.
He undertook his fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, he later headed several research programs at Missouri Chest Hospital where he worked for several years before returning to India.
