Impassable roads in rural areas are currently impassable due to heavy rainfall. My rural village is not an exception. The situation is made worse by the daily heavy downpour of rain on roads which were problematic before the rains started pounding.
The County governments and national government have failed in ensuring Kenya have access to all weather roads.
Most of the rural roads especially those on sloppy grounds are affected by surface run-off which is not guided properly. Today, I helped my kinsmen to work on the drainage of the village road.
It sometimes calls for residents to invest on an all weather road. This is one of the ways to enjoy freedom of movement of people, livestock and machines.
