About 400 people have escaped from a quarantine centre in Malawi’s second largest city, Blantyre after complaining about its poor state, BBC reports.
The escapees had not been tested for coronavirus since their arrival from South Africa.
They complained lack of food, water and toilets.
The quarantine centre is at a stadium.
The Malawi government has not commented on the incident.
The incident occurs a day after a local media reported that 8 people, who had tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving from South Africa escaped from Kameza isolation facility in Blantyre.
101 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Malawi with the virus claiming four lives.
