Hezbollah has sworn in a new leader  Hashem Safieddine after Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated in a missile attack in Beirut City, Lebanon.

 

Hashem Safieddine is a maternal cousin to Hassan Nasrallah. He has deep ties to Iran because he undertook his religious studies in the holy City of Qom.

 

The new leader wears a black turban which marks him as a descendant of Prophet Muhammed.

 

Lebanon declared three days of mourning following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

 

He is a member of the powerful decision-making Shura Council.
