Heung-Min Son has completed his 3-week mandatory military service in South Korea, and won an award for best performance.
Among the 157 trainees, the 27-year-old excelled in shooting skills and was ranked the top performer.
Yonhap news agency reported that Son received the Pilsung Prize, which is one of the 5 awards given to top performers.
Son’s training included shooting and bayonet skills, chemical, radiological and biological training, first aid training and individual battle skills.
Son had returned to South Korea in March as he continued his recovery from a fractured arm after the Premier League campaign was brought to a halt due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
All South Korea men must complete military service at the age of 28.
Tottenham congratulated Son on social media and said he will return to England next week.
