BBC and other media houses have reported that Israel retaliation through air strikes has killed at least 198 Palestinians.
The United Nations called for ceasefire. However, the Israel Prime Minister held a meeting with his security council and declared war on Hamas.
Palestinian gunmen are inside Israel causing terror on Israelis.

Israel has dispatched more members of the special forces to the southern Israel to rescue those under siege.
More than 22 Israel citizens have been reported dead in the rocket attacks and exchange of fire between Israel and Hamas.
Israel fighter jets have already hit 17 military sites in Gaza.
“Israel is a nation at war,” Benjamin Netanyahu told media.
Israel warplanes have already destroyed an 11-storey tower in Gaza city where the Hamas radio is located.
Hamas conducted unprecedented, multi-front attack on Israel. The terrorist group infiltrated the international border between Israel and Gaza on land, sea and air. They crossed the border as Israel was busy focusing on the rockets which were raining from the skies.
Israel intelligence services failed to see this coming. The Mossad and Shin Bet did not even get a clue that the attacks were being planned by Hamas.
Israel has planted informants and agents in Palestinian terrorist groups but this did not bear fruits.
The last time, Israel experience terrorist attacks was in October 1973 in Yom Kippur War.
