The Council of Governors (CoG) has threatened to shut down county operations over the stand off over county revenue unless it is resolved before September 17.
The Senate failed to reach an agreement after over 10 sessions and ended up creating a 12-member committee which also failed to reach an agreement.
These stalemate has had an effect of delaying the implementation of County Allocation Revenue Act 2020.
The Senate has also threatened to petition for the dissolution of Senate for its failure to sort out this crisis.
“We hereby forewarn the Senate that a Petition for its dissolution can be initiated by any member of the public through the High Court as provided for under Article 258 of the Constitution,” said Oparanya the Chairman of Council of Governors.
Employees at the counties have gone for a couple of months without their salaries.
