Defender Diego Godin has joined Cagliari from Inter Milan on a three-year contract.
Cagliari have signed the Uruguayan defender on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old Diego Godin leaves Inter after just one season, during which he made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring 2 goals.
“Cagliari Calcio are pleased to announce the signing of Diego Godin: the great defender from Uruguay joins Cagliari on a permanent deal until June 30th, 2023,” Cagliari said in a statement.
Diego Godin played for Uruguay’s Cerro and Club Nacional teams, Spanish clubs Villarreal and Atletico Madrid before joining Inter.
Diego Godin won the Spanish La Liga in the 2013-2014 season with Atletico.
Diego Godin was also part of the Uruguay side that won the 2011 Copa America.
