Chief Justice of Ghana, Kwasi Anin Yeboah, has quarantined himself after reports emerged that some judges in the West African country had tested positive for Covid-19.

 

The Chief Justice of Ghana started his two-week quarantine on Wednesday according to a statement by the judicial secretary.

 

He’ll be working from his home in the country’s capital, Accra.

 

Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo is also working from isolation after a member of his close circle tested positive for the virus.

 

Other several judges have also gone into isolation.

 

All cases that were set for hearing this week have been postponed.

 

Ghana is one of the hardest hit countries in the continent by the pandemic. A total of 21,968 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country with the virus claiming 129 lives.

 

Ghana is set to hold general elections in December.
